Grips on 22/45

Hi folks

I purchased a plain jane 22/45 a couple years back and ended up selling it to a friend who wanted it bad enough. However, during my research leading up to the purchase, I RECALL thinking that replacement grips were not available for the 22/45, although some custom work could be done to make em fit.

I now see them on Ruger's site.

Was I confused all along? Maybe I'm mis-remembering in my "old" age.

Ruger recently added some 22/45 RP models to their lineup. These pistols feature removable grip panels and can be removed and/or swapped out for different ones.

I believe most aftermarket 1911 stocks should fit the 22/45RP.

Like ranger1 says, 1911 panels work. The best part about the replaceable grip panels is you can use something like these 1911 Pearce finger grooves that have shims under the side panels. This gives you the finger grooves plus it widens the grip itself which made a huge difference in comfort for me anyway. In the second pic, I've gone to different side panels, very wide and have a thumb rest.

Dang! So going back and getting my old one (it's basically new!) back won't help b/c it didn't have replaceable grip panels. Grrr.
