I have a new SP101 in .357 with a 4" barrel and adjustable sights.

I like the gun, but I am not thrilled about the grip. It feels a bit narrow to me. And I wear this under my shirt and I am fairly certain that the sweat will ruin the wood inserts over time. Also the shape of the grip is kind of squared off and makes two contact points with my hand and it is not comfortable.

On the plus side it conceals well, and does not print at all with my Simply Rugged holster on the strong side.

I'd like to replace the grip with a rubber grip. But I don't want it to grow too much in size.

Any recommendations?

I would buy the monogrip from Ruger on the site from the shop Ruger store $22.95 I see it says their out again, but usally not for long, it a Hogue grip same as you can buy at any local gun shop but I like the one from Ruger cause it has the Ruger logo on it, the local gun store grip doesn't.

Cooler, if you are just worried about the wood grip panels, and the rest of the grip feels okay, just do what I did. I changed out the wooden ones for some of the original black plastic panels. They fit perfectly and I don't have to worry about messing up the wood ones. Now if you aren't happy with the grips, then as others have said you can always go for the aftermarket variety.

Just a fwiw.

My sp101 has the 2 1/2" barrel so it came with the cheap plastic inserts, but i like the way they fit my hand and have a good grip, don't think I'll change them.

If anybody has the wood ones with Ruger emblem engraved, and want the plastic ones I would be glad to trade. I'll even add money, I've tried every way in the world to get a set from Ruger and TALO.
