Talked to Ruger Customer Service today looking for grip panel dowels for The Security Six. I was told that they have none and the rep didn't know if any later models had them or would match up with the Security Six. I need one blued and one stainless. Any ideas. Thanks

I recall we use 5/32 rollpins from the hardware store, cut 'em down to the proper length, and ALWAYS round off the top, outside edges (yes kinda "roll them...")

besides, the roll pins can "hide" the small pin that one uses to take down the gun...............

rugerguy, you are brilliant! :D
When I ordered stainless parts for my Flattop, I also ordered a stainless grip panel locater roll pin.
I haven't installed it yet because I didn't see much advantage for it other than being a little more rust resistant.

I thought about drilling a small hole in each of my grip panels, (somewhat like my old Security Six), to place a pin into, but wasn't sure where it would be out of the way of the hammer strut when cocking.
I was using an allen wrench to capture the strut, but of course, it was not contained in the gun itself.
I have a stainless rear sight pin that I can cut to length, and slide inside the roll pin.

I do believe you are 2 for 2! 8)
I'll get right on it!
Thanks again! :D

Thank you Rugerguy.

Didn't mean to cut in on your thread like that "dubltap", but you asked the right queston at the right time and I was thrilled.
Hope you were not offended.

I used a cut off nail for the same purpose and it works fine. But think I will look for some 5/32" roll pins at Ace Hardware and use those instead. Thanks for the suggestion.
