Grip finish

we use any one of the several "restoration" finishes wipe one, scratch and dent remover, Old English ,others, like Howards, we find it in antique shops for touching up furniture, works like a charm...sometimes a simple wipe down with 'RIG' does the trick on old wood...........we do NOT get into "refinishing" wood, we cut'em down, saw 'em up, and burn it....... 8)

Depending on when the grips were made, they could have been finished with a catalized polyurethane finish. That's a two-part finish which is only conventionally available to industrial users. Which Ruger is. What we need is a Ruger employee to provide the actual data. Lacking that, the closest thing, available to Joe Shmoe, is Minwax Wipe-On poly, available at Lowe's and Home Cheapo.
