Does anyone remember if the Accusport 45/45acp conv. came with the red or black grips?I/m referring to the stainless 5.5 inch barreled Bisley model with factory engraved cylinder, adj. sight ones, thanks,Archie.

Thanks for the info,I have a chance to buy one and it has the red grips,I guess they may have been manufact and whatever color was available was used, must not have been a great deal of the convertables made if you look at what their up to on GB,thanks.Archie

Mine was made around the summer of 2007 (06/20/07 on the casing envelope) and had the green/black laminated grips, it was the first one I can remember seeing that had the warning passage moved to the bottom of the barrel. Little stuff like that can give you an idea of which batch yours came from if you don't have the box or spent casing envelope. Serial # tells too but could have been a couple of batches made around the same time with different grip features, etc.

Is this the shade you're referring to?

yup, that be the one,the writing is on underside of barrel,I/m just guessing but it's probably as someone in the thread said they came in both colors at same time,MANY THANKS to all you hombres input,Archie.I just wish I could have got the black ones.

Mine came with the rosewood grips. NOT laminated but the solid rosewood. Warning is on the bottom. Bought it new in 2006...I think.

EDIT-apologies, jusy re-read OP (pays to you know)--re the Bisley part. I do believe I saw on the same Shop Ruger site linked below black laminates for Bisley too, but my be mistaken. Nevertheless, for those that've wanted the "black" laminates for their "regular" XR3 Red plowhandles, here you go...(I have also re-posted this same info in a new "XR3 Red..." thread).

If you're talking XR3 Reds, little known but the "black" lamiantes are available from Ruger. For a long time they :have had them mis-labeled on their website "Single Six only with square back trigger and 10-1/2" barrel" or some such--no such animal exists, so I pressed them (NH offce) on, and sure enough they're just the regular XR3 Reds, here they are installed on my Single Six .22.

This was about a year ago. A year later, I thought Ruger had finally corrected the website, but I see they're still mis-described!

Talk with Donald, Ruger Customer Service (NH office, not Prescott) - very helpful.

I also got a set of the "red" Reds around the same time...correctly labeled (as far as application goes) but what Ruger refers to as "rosewood w/o lock" are laminates too, or at least were a year ago.
