I'd like to see if the trigger can be made lighter in double action. The pull is about 10.5#, single it's around 5.5 which isn't to bad. It's the first GP100 I've owned and I guess I'm a little spoiled by the trigger on my 686. Anyone you guys can recommend in Hillsborough or Pasco county, Fl ? Thanks

You could start with a spring kit from Wolff. Clean and polish all surfaces and "try" a lighter main spring. Dry fire it 500/1000 times helps.

Thanks Bob, your information was most helpful. Going to order the wolfe spring kit and see how it does. Not sure if I'd do more harm than good trying to polish surfaces though

Just remember, you are not removing any material from the hammer and trigger, just polishing them. Also be careful that you don't change any of the angles of the pieces you are polishing. I do a lot of work on the Ruger DA's (Six series and GP's) and it's not hard to get them nice and smooth, just takes time.

Ron, did you ever live in tampa? I once knew a guy named Ron that did a trigger on my 686 (buffed and polished hammer and trigger) and a trigger on my Mark 1, also put a post on the mag release. Excellent work. Was stationed at Macdill AFB. This was about 20yrs ago.

Nope, not me. Never got stationed that far south in 26 years. I was a SAC trained killer for a lot of years then went to Air Mobility Command (Dover AFB and McGuire AFB) after some stints in Europe and the Middle East.
