Been kinda' back burner thinkin' about one of these for a while now, and low and behold I go in a local shop today and they've got a used one in the case marked $525. I didn't handle it, cause if I had I'd have probably walked out with it. Is $525 a fair price under current conditions, or should I try and haggle it? Had factory grips with wood inserts, compact style I believe.

If the gun is in very good or better condition that is a decent price. Could not hurt to try and negotiate it down to $500.00, but even if he does not negotiate it is a pretty decent price.

By the way Summit Broker has them in stock for $595.00 + shipping new in the box. It appears that Ruger is beginning to catch up some with the demand created by the Obama administration. I am seeing a few more of their guns showing up at Retailers where they do not sell the first day.

I just bought a new one today--3" barrel with fixed sights--for $599.

As stated, $525 is a good price, but I would shoot for $500 OTD Hey, you dont get what you dont ask for.
I have one, and it is my favorite 357 in the collection.

Saved myself $500+ by himming and hawwing mentally about this for almost two weeks. Went back today (money in pocket) and it was gone.
