Well, I finally took out my $289 used Vaquero to the range today with my handloads. I tried out some Lyman cast bullets #452424 that weigh out at 255 grains with 7.5 grains of Unique. I also have some Hornady 230 grain JHP's that are also loaded with 7.5 grains of Unique.
I shot it offhand at 7 yards one handed at the vitals of the silhouette (rounds circled in blue) and at 10 yards offhand one handed (circled in black), these are the cast bullet loads.
I followed those up with six rounds fired at the "head" and those are the Hornady JHP rounds, 7 yards offhand one handed. The loads are pleasant and the Vaquero sucks the recoil, which isn't much, up nicely. The sights are dead on to point of aim.
