My wife and I have been researching new cars for a couple weeks and decided that Ford, Honda, Toyota and Subaru had cars that looked good and fit our price range. Friday we did the dealership and test drive thing.
The winner was a Subaru XV Crosstrek.

Well, that should be easy to spot on a parking lot!

I have a "gray" Camry that can appear blue, green or gray, depending on the color of the sky. And purple under streetlights. :?

Congratulations. That car should serve you well for many years to come. My Impreza is 15 years old and still going strong.

Hi,

A fellow Forum member I started shooting with a few months ago has the same model, same color, though I don't know what year. His is the first one I've seen up close and personal, and it seems like a very nice ride. You should be pleased, as others have said, for a very long time!

I traded my '14 Forester for a '15 forester, so I could be shiftless (CVT).

So far it's between ten and fifteen percent better mileage and is a dream
to drive. Loved the '14, except for shift, shift, shift, shift, shift (you get
the idea). A close ratio six speed takes a whole lot of your time. :D
The CVT just makes it . . very . . nice.
AND having studded snow tires with four wheel drive, in record snow fall
for February in Denver, doesn't hurt either. :D . :D . 8)

Nice car! My wife has a '06 Baha it has 120000 mi and she loves it. Its a turbo and has some zip. I am going to get a '15 Forester but can't decide if I want or need a turbo!

I just got into a car accident this morning and my Impreza is probably going to the junk yard. Gave myself bad luck I guess.

Hope you are OK, now you have an excuse to get a new one.

Thanks a lot for the well wishes. I am fine and the other driver way too. My car is not, but Craigslist has several older Subarus for me to check out.

Had a fun one today.

Headed up to Ft. Collins on I-25 and there was a collision with multiple
State Patrol cars, ambulance and fire trucks blocking the Interstate. I
could see about a mile ahead and thought "THIS is going to take a long
time. Then I remembered I was in the Forester with studded snow tires.
Cut diagonally at about 45 degrees over to the access road, turned around,
and headed back to the previous cross road. By the time I got there, the
traffic was backed up beyond that.

I took a parallel road and was in Ft. Collins in a bit over ten minutes,
rather than waiting an hour or so while they cleaned up the mess.

Yet another plus for four wheel drive and clearance. 8)
YEA, I know you are not supposed to do that, but if the traffic is at a
stand still, I don't think it hurt anything.

I like the color so tired of all the grays and silvers and other mixed colors automakers have been using for the last 25 years nice to see a basic color like orange again.

Congratulations! Those are nice. If I needed a car just for myself, I'd probably get a CrossTrek, too.

My wife just got a '15 Outback on the eve of Valentine's Day. She really, really, really likes it a lot. Did I mention that she likes the car?

Just did the first oil change on my '15 Forester and installed a Fumoto drain valve. It's very nicely made, and I hope to never again have to grope thru the drain pan for an oil plug. The nipple allows me to put on a piece of clear plastic tubing to drain the oil right into the used oil jug. Just turn the tab and drain the oil! Neat.

If there's any problems I'll let folks know...

My 2001 For'str is doing quite nicely, thank you. Been getting quite a workout the last couple of weeks.

If I were looking to trade new, I'd give the 'Trek a close look.

:)
