Got lucky this weekend

November in Oregon generally means rain, rain, and more rain. The weather guessers had us under water all weekend, but they were wrong again, and I got out to the range for a couple of hours yesterday. Only got sprinkled on a couple of times. Got to finish sighting in some of my newer acquisitions, as well as an old friend.

No targets that I'm particularly proud of, but I'm getting close with that MkIII. My 50 year old eyes are much better with the red dot than I am with open sights at 25 yards... And it may be time to look for a higher power than 6x on the AR.

I got sucked in to the dry day, yesterday, and went for a long bike ride. It wasn't til the end of the ride, and at the furthest point from my house, that the monsoon finally kicked in. Oh...The smell of wet leather. 8)

Very nice Witness. I have a Witness Sport. It came out about 15 - 20 years ago.It was my IPSC back-up gun. Very accurate and reliable.

Easy to build, if you want to do it yourself. At the time I made mine no one was producing a mid-length gas system barrel with the rifle handguards, to hide the gas block, don't know about now. If I had to do it over I might just get a RRA or Bushy varmint type. Mine is getting a new Weaver 24x target scope in a couple of weeks.
