Got a nice shooter today!

I bought a nice shooter grade 357 blackhawk Old model unconverted today. It is 4 5/8" barrel serial # 30-825xx no box or papers though. Price was right $300. Will try and get pics up later.

I just noticed this barrel is an 8 grove barrel was this common on the later of the Old models I was thinking they where 6 grove.

I believe the 8 groove is the later type 4. Nice score.

I've got two 3 screw shooters in 357 so am going to give one to a 12 year old I know this week. Traveling now, visitin with family on the way, drop off some guns to the two brothers (10 and 12), custody of their dad, of course, then on to Tenn. Hope the weather in Tn. is good, 'cause I planned to get out with a friend several days at the range. I hear another storm is coming to the southeast = probably ruin all my plans. Well, at least I get to see the boys faces when they receive the handguns (the 10 y.o. gets a SSM in 32 H&R, adj. sites) Meetin them at the gun shop for the transfers and they don't know it yet - don't tell, o.k.?
