for a while anyway
On the clock almost 40 hours and 1200 miles the past 2 weeks. This is close to the "old normal" for me. Last year I drove over 17,000 miles for work but this year only a little over 6K and most of that before April 1. I can certainly see how much I've been missing while being shut down. The part of my job I enjoy is meeting people and keeping an eye on how things are going in other locations. I hope people get over this fixation on foolish "prevention measures" and get back to life.

I find it amazing(!) that the "prevention" varies so SIGNIFICANTLY from state to state.

How is it that something that will get you thrown in jail, in one state, will be totally
ignored, in another?

And the attitude of the people is as variable as the legalities. Honestly, I work under absolute "no contact" rules laid down by Federal guidelines but invariably, the people I am only supposed to contact by phone don't have any problem with walking up to me and having a conversation. It's primarily a "CYA" for the agency, a plausible deniability of responsibility.
