Are there rules against raising money to donate to this site for upgrading equipment?

Would the owner be willing to accept money donated for such a purpose?

Would any of you be willing to make a small donation for such?

The reason I posted this is for a good while now, this forum has been near impossible for me to consistently navigate due to reasons that I assume may be overworked/overloaded equipment. I get a lot of enjoyment from this forum as I am sure a lot of you do and I would be willing to make a donation toward helping with upgrading the equipment, but I know that I cannot donate enough on my own to really make a difference...but if we all chip in, it could help the owner with the cost associated with providing the site that we all seem to enjoy so much.

Just a thought and if it is out of line, I apologize and ask that this be deleted.

I suppose it could be, although I don't have problems on any of the other sites that I go to.

I repeatedly get a notice reads something like "This site is currently disabled" not sure it says that verbatim...but the gist is the same. Also, every time I come here, I am repeatedly unable to search...I continually get the message telling me that I cannot search at this particular time.

At any rate, I am not complaining...just seeking to help some IF it is needed.

I was just on the Revolver section and tried to move to another post and received the "site is disabled" sign. I tried once more and received the same message. I immediately went back to the "Board Index" selected "Lounge" and here I am. It worked fine here but wouldn't in the Revolver section.

No, what I am saying is at 10:42 it didn't work on one section but did on another. I had the same problem/occurrence yesterday. Seems if I went to another 'section' the site worked fine. I have a friend that hosts web sites all over the US. I'll ask him what he thinks is the cause and possible fix.

Oh I see. For me I have to either close Internet Explorer or leave the site to reload the page Then after a few minutes it works again.

Thus and so. I too would not mind paying money for this site. I love that it is ad free. In a world of commercialism. It's nice to not be bombarded.

I have had no problems, Donations have been mentioned before and I am
willing to donate. Send donations where? To Flatgate or Pie? ps

Over the many years here, I've seen a few fundraisers. Before Flatgate got the site,,, many if us did exactly that,,, sent $$ to the owner for upgrades. Well, in THAT case,,, it never seemed to change much.
However, once Flatgate became the owner, & a overhaul happened,,, a lot of the issues went away after a server change, or upgrade. (I can't recall which one happened.)
Then, an opportunity arose for us to "thank" Flatgate & many of us here donated $$$ to buy a collection of firearms, all #100 to give Flatgate. You can see the "sticky" in the Gallery of what & when he got them.

From time to time, we all know that computer systems need upgrading & newer software or whatever to make things run as we wish.

Many of us do enjoy the fact that this place has no pop-up ads, no commercial ads, very little spammers, etc. We all tend to point to these things when describing how great this place is, (after all the great members of course.)

If it takes a bit of $$$ for I_Like_Pie to buy or build whatever we need to make this place run better, I know many of us will gladly donate.

I am definitely willing. I know a lot of the newer guys don't remember but we all chipped in to buy Flatgate a really nice serial no. (I won't post the no.) collection. So yes, if it is needed I am in. Pie will probably pop up soon and let us know.
