How bad was your winter we ask ? Friends are nursing frost bit chickens. Yup, the gal that is a nurse that takes care of folks in their last days, her specialty, spent the weekend soaking her chickens feet in epsom salts. I kid you not, I could not make this up. I prescribed a quart of BBQ myself, but doc steve's opinion just doesn't carry much weight around here.

These chickens are very well kept. They are odd breeds from all over the weird world. They all lay eggs of different colors, none just white. She calls them her divas, the are named...cher, gaga,beyonce,etc.. She has 20-30 of'em. The coop has heat lamps, both indoor and outdoor floor space. Netted over due to Coopers Hawks and owls. We've had more than a dozen nights below zero, 2 nights beyond minus 20, and I'm not talking windchill here. She and my wife grew up next door to each other and raised chickens together as girls. It's just that hell did freeze over here, the last 2 months.
