Local store has a 7.5" ported Premier Grade with both cylinders; 454 and 45LC. No box or other goodies & what appear to be the factory wood grips. 98% gun, couple of very small marks on the cylinder where the gun was laid down.

Am I correct that anything under $1,000 would be a "buy"?

A steal. Or, more politely, "priced for quick sale." Snooze & lose...

I despise ports and don't care for the .454 but I would've bought it on the spot for that price!!! Lop them ports right off, slap some ivory micarta on it, load up some .45Colts and go shootin'!

I haven't had anything make me want to go to Illinois in a long time,, but if I could get a Premier like that for under $1000,, I'd go north!

I have a 7-1/2" .454 that was ported.

It now sports a non ported 7-1/2" barrel.

I can DEFINITELY tell the difference in Recoil. The non ported
is more active......

Folks complain that the ported barrels are louder..........

There's NO WAY I'd fire a .454 w/o wearing hearing protection and I don't care what kind of barrel is on the gun.
