My OP was back on April 13, 2010. The thread took a turn on a couple of variations for 'free spin' so now I'm just a bit confused. I have a NM Blackhawk, Bisley, .45. I think I want it to free spin. I saw the links of how to alter the 'top' leg of the pawl, but I read that in some models the lower leg of the pawl helpS align or index in some way. Do I need to alter the lower leg of the pawl, the 'window' in the frame or leave both ALONE.??

page one of "free spin pawl" at the bottom is a picture of exactly what you want to do. Just make sure you want to do it first. It's REALLY hard to undo

I did 3 guns so Far and used a Dremmel
what I learned tape all areas of what you may bump while
touching the pawl
I also take a Bamboo Meat skewer
I break a piece and push it behind the pawl to keep it pushed out
as far as Possible and Keep stationary
You can do one in a Few minutes
I should have made a Video
If I do another I will, and post it
