Would the frame and overall size be the same for a 44 spl sheriff model compared to a Vaquero 45LC sheriff model--Thanks Paul

Are you asking "is the cylinder frame the same"?

To the best of my knowledge, the answer would be no. The .44 Specials are made on the '55 Blackhawk sized frame.

Ruger Vaqueros use the '56 .44 magnum Blackhawk sized cylinder frames.

Now, if you mean a New Vaquero sheriff model then the answer would be yes.

Just enough different that if looking at new or ordering--assuming for your .44 Special--you should definitely get for the smaller mid-frame. Some large-frame holsters sorta fit mid-frames if constructed overly tight, but try before you buy.
