Flame cutting on Single six (pics)

I noticed on my new to me, used single six, there is some evidence of ? flame cutting? present after a good cleaning. Is this abnormal for a 22mag? Gun shoots excellent by the way.

That's not flame cutting.

It is tooling marks from cutting in the threads for the barrel.

Common on the Single Six. Shoot Away.

Yeah that thing will outlast you even if you shoot a thousand rounds a day for the rest of your life!! Single sixes are the most fun to be had and last forever. Just a little "tooling overrun" :lol:

yessir, they are correct, those are "tooling marks..."

I think it would be neigh on impossible for a little .22LR to generate enough heat to "flame cut" steel. Note that the marks look a little like thread cuts. That's why.
