Nice work! What type of wood? It has very interesting grain and color. I'm guessing walnut but I see characterics that remind me both of birch and maple (darkened with stain, of course.) I like 'em!

Sorry forgot to say what it was. Birdseye maple. The seller called it roasted maple because of the darker color.

Very nice work. I have tried twice to make grips; one set for a 1911 and one for a SBH. The 1911s were serviceable but the SBH's looked like "hammered butt" as my old buddy J.D. used to say.
