Well after a winter of reading on reloading, I finally decided to
get started I reloaded 200 rds of 44 mag 240gr XTP H110 22.5 gr. For my Super Redhawk 7.5 inch barrel.
Went out and shot a few and noticed I didn't have my crimp good enough and noticed some powder flakes in the barrel and inside a few cases so I reset the crimp according to Lees manual specs and recrimped them all and no more problem
"Real pleased very accurate". The Lees auto powder leaks a little.
I think I am going to put a different powder system on it , any suggestions would be helpful :?: I have Lees four hole turret press.

For pistol cartridges I use the RCBS little Dandy Powder measure. It does not mount on the press but nothing will except the lee products. You can do one of two things. You can use your press as you have. To charge the case you simple use the the Little Dandy measure when the case goes into the expander die. Takes a little longer than the lee measure as you have to manual position the measure on the die and work the knob.

The other thing to do is what I do. I also have the four hole press. I do everything in batches. I size the cases then prime with the Lee hand primer. Next all cases get expanded. Next I charge all cases in a loading block with the little dandy. I really like doing this as I can visually check that all cases are properly charged. Next I seat the bullets and then crimp at the same time. Work the handle to index the press back around to the seating die and do the next round. So I am not saving anytime over a single stage press. But I can set up all my dies and not worry about adjustments in the future. I just cannot get comfortable loading ammo unless I can inspect every operation before going onto the next one.

I have found my Lee 'not so perfect powder measure' works better, without spilling, with larger grained powders such as Blue Dot and Universal Clays. 8)

...Jimbo

Jimbo, how is the consistency of your Lee measure? I have the auto disk too as you know. The fixed disks are quite consistent if not a bit light. The adjustable charge bar can vary from .2-.3 under to .1 to .2 over. Despite it being an anti-backlash design, I wonder if there really is some backlash or other movement of the charge bar? I may go to the double disk kit. Iron Mike Golf lent me his Lyman 55. But I do not have a suitable area on my workbench to where I can clamp it. But...that will be remedied this weekend! :D

I decided go with the Lyman 55 and Lyman Multi-Expander and powder charge dye set up. Had I know better I would have bought different.
