What is your favorite 30 Carbine load, if you reload for the 30 Carbine. I am looking for a great shooting load with fairly soft recoil and low report. Thanks.

I opened up my cylinder throats to .309 and I size cast .313 bullets meant for 32mag guns down to .309. There is a wide variety of cast bullets there weighing between 90 and 120 grains.
When they fit right it seems all loads work well. I am usually happy with loads doing about 1100 to1200 FPS.
BUT,,,,, I have found if I download too much, I get stickier extraction. It seems contrary to logic, but I believe low pressure does not swell the thick brass in a 30 carb. case to seal in the chamber. Then carbon leaks and fouls the chambers making it stickey.
2400 and 4227 are powders that works well for me.

Welcome to the Forum!

We get questions like this all the time. So,, PLEASE, PLEASE do not take this as an insult. You are new and we do not know your experience level.

What do YOUR manuals say about your load combinations & it's recommendations? Each gun is a machine unto itself. What works in my guns may not be the best you your guns.
Internet reloading recipes may not be the safest or the best to follow.

But I can say,, that the .30 Carbine in a handgun (you didn't mention if it was for a rifle or handgun,) has a reputation for loud reports. Especially when using military GI Surplus ammo.

I load for my 2 .30Carbine milsurps primarily.
I use 110gr FMJ's I source from RMR. I use CCI Small rifle primers, and H110 powder. 15.0gr duplicates the WWII ammunition and provides factory level accuracy.
I trim cases to minimum specifications for the first loading, and as necessary thereafter. I use Lee carbide dies but still lubricate the cases to ease effort to size them.
I crimp with a Lee factory crimp die that uses a collet to squeeze the case mouth. Not a lot of crimp is needed.
I also have a cast bullet load that shoos quite well.
It consists of the Lee 93gr RN @.311" cast from a 6-cav mold and powder coated. I load them over 11.8gr of #2400 for approximately 1,800fps. Very accurate at 50yds.

Probably not what your looking for, but, my only .30 carbine load was/is a #1 1/2 buckshot over 1 1/2 grain of Bullseye. Used it in a Contender pistol for Bullseye League, also squirrel hunting, didn't have to resize the brass, just replace the primer. Talk about a cat sneeze. Good Luck Chris
