Had lunch with a couple of retired friends today in Waukesha and afterwards we went down the street a few blocks to Fletchers Gun Range. Browsed the store and checked out the good supply of guns to rent. Had never had the opportunity to shoot a 1911 so rented a SR 1911 CMD. After punching a lot of holes in the paper I can state I do like the feel of that firearm. Thinking after the holidays it will be time to pick one up.

You're hooked. :) A lot of folks who shoot 1911's will also have a full size 1911 in .22lr. Which is a little cheaper to practice with than the .45, unless you reload. There's several on the market. I have a Sig 1911-22, but there are others. If you decide to go that route, make sure it matches the function and features of the .45 as close as possible.
