Going through a lot of old paperwork, dealing with family present and past I looked into an envelope and there was a folded piece of paper about 2“ x 3“ long folded. With gentle haste I unfolded the paper to find it was a receipt from the store in National City California Dated 7/8/1980 when I lived in Coronado. It was for one Ruger GA 34H which ended up being my side arm when I worked for the SPD. At the time it cost me $215 +12.90 tax for a take-it home of $227.90. I wish I could find them like that anymore .

Nothing unusual here. Nor is it a particularly good price. For insurance purposes I keep a lock box of the receipts for every gun I ever owned. If I ever sold one the sold receipt is also attached.

My oldest Rugers were a Single Six and a Security Six. The former was $79 and the latter $85. The best deal, however, was for a High Standard .22 Target pistol for $45 from a buddy.
