Fallow deer. Exotic species, not subject to game laws.

Axis. Likely the most common of the exotic species running loose in the state. Fallow can be similarly marked but have palmated antlers and are slightly smaller. As stated above exotics are not under the Parks and Wildlife jurisdiction.

The only rifle I've used for deer in my adult life is a 788 in .308. It's all I've ever needed in FL, GA, TX and CO.

My first rifle was/is 788-308 purchased new for $88 back in early 70s. It doesn't see much use today, mainly a back up for others. The 700 is my go to rifle but I enjoy others...357, 45C, 270, 38-55, 30-30....but because of the distance, I chose 700 .30-'06.

We have plenty of Fallow deer here in Queensland. One of the best species to eat hand down.
