Finally joined the party,

When the SR1911 was announced last year I knew that I would be buying one. Well a year later here in middle TN they are still as scarce as hen's teeth. I have seen a total of three in various stores and called several larger stores that had received 2 or 3 since they went on sale.
I saw one at a dealer that was on hold for $699, the 2 others stores were $750 and $799. I was waiting for them to become available at the $699 store. A larger dealer I called sold them for $635, but he had only received a few and he didn't do waiting list. Instead of a list you could pay in full then he would call you when it arrived. The trouble he was 83 miles from me 1 way, with my truck round trip would have been $32 of gas, so a trip to layaway and a trip to pick-up would have canceled out the difference.
Then I saw one on GunBroker and keep an eye on it, logged on with 30 minutes to go and put in a few bids and won it.

I should be here next week, meanwhile I ordered 3 more mags, these are supposed to be the same as Ruger factory mags. Cheaper than Ruger plus free shipping.

Outstanding, and a nice low 3-digit serial number! :) I was actually gonna jump on that one, but all the SA stuff floating around lately (along with some Standards!) has distracted my funds!!
