Finally fired my SR9 - WOW

Just want to let my gun buddies know that after two months I finally got
a chance to fire my new SR9 and I LOVE IT. Fired only 18 rounds but will fire more next time. No jams and I love the feel of the gun. Having bad hands I had to use a golf glove on my left hand and it worked perfect to rack the slide.

Anyway thanks to all who responded to my previous posts and I sincerely appreciated all the info. You are a great bunch of people.

What a great post I hope you continue to enjoy the gun, I know I like mine a lot. I've listed the superlatives before and on the SR9 the biggest thing is: "It's the feel in the hand, baby." Ruger really got that right and from there all else follows .

I too am a big fan of my SR9.
Today my son (12yo) wanted to do some target practicing and asked to shoot a can of soda. I said sure and set him up. Typically, I let him shoot the MKII but today I brought out the SR9. I paced off 10 yds and set the can up. I gave him the SR9 basics, reminded him of safe handling, put the ear muffs on and told him to fire. He missed first time as I think he was not expecting the recoil. But he settled back in and plugged it on the 2nd try. I told him he was probably a better shot than me to hit it at that distance - young eyes!
