Well After the old laptop shutdown after 9 or 10 years last November, I finally bought a new one, Gee only 9/10 years of service dang laptop. Just learnig this new thingy I boughtso speling mixtakes may happen.

Congratulations on new laptop. Our old one was about same age as yours. We bought a new one a couple of years ago.
Wow. Fast. The old one I could turn on, go make coffee, come back it was still loading. Good machine, just a little tired.
Kindle Fire tablets for the win.

I am at that point also. Mine is pushing 14 years! Somedays it is fine, others it hiccups, stumbles and crashes like a drunkard trying to walk home uphill.

Hope the new one works well for you. I switched from an old desktop to a Lenovo laptop a few years back and love how it works, ….. other than the hinge mechanism for the screen part of the device. It is now awaiting parts at the computer repair shop, for the second time. It was still cheaper to fix the Lenovo than to buy a new laptop, and I hope to avoid the hassle of trying to transfer stuff from one laptop to a new one. So right now I am relying on a tablet, which is not nearly as user friendly or as fast as the laptop.

Sorry, Must have missed it or it got lost in the avalanche of garbage emails that were piling in. Shish. With the new laptop. I had to delete about 6000 trash emails from November when the old laptop quit.

That definitely would explain the "no answer". You told me that you were having problems with the new laptop, when last we spoke. Never thought about how many gazillion emails would need to be looked at and sorted. Anywho... welcome back!

My old backup laptop finally died at about the same time as the Microsoft support of its Windows 10 ended. It was a good time, though. Walmart had a great Acer laptop on sale with an online price of only $265. I still can't believe what a bargain it was.
I delete on average 300 - 500 emails a day and as of late the ones that go directly to my junk file(s), I have three email addresses at least, I don't even look at these junk ones. With my computer I can hit command and the 'A' at the same time and that selects all of them and so I just delete them all....as for the regular emails I just look at who they are from ... select one then scan up to one I want to read hold the shift key down and select the email before it and I've selected a whole group that I don't need to read and then hit delete and they are all gone..
