Finally a three digit Cat

Yes, nice gun. I've never seen a three digit BC.
With all the early misinformation regarding early Bearcats, what is the consensus of whether there were 999 guns manufactured prior to the first Axxx gun?

According to RENE (Red Eagle New Exchange) the Bearcats started at serial number 1 and went to 999 before starting the 'alphabet' guns. There seemed to not be any prototype or pre-production guns made. Serial number 1 was the first gun actually assembled and was sent out to various gun writers for testing and was used in the early press releases and advertising.

Hi when I first saw that auction my heart did a back flip I thought it was #250 I own #250 single six and the 357 Blackhawk #250 after my heart settled down I started thinking I might like to own that little gem but decided to back out when another member here was going after it Just remember one is never enough   Congratulations

It has a small 'blemish' just to the left of "RUGER BEARCAT" on the cylinder. The hammer also has a slight blemish, but so do all the other older models I own, so I guess it is a Ruger unofficial 'trademark'.

Well next up is a TWO DIGIT    keep up the good work....

Then an S gun or a D gun maybe a D/S gun.....or a shelve that looks like this    RR

Lets see; how can I say this politely? I HATE you! :D :D I do not dare let my wife see that photo.
BTW a box came with the Cat. Not in the greatest shape, but a box and the wrapping paper.

Gosh I forgot you gotta get all the ALPHA CATS TOO....you better get going    RR
I have two, so that lessens the quest somewhat. My lookin' is now for a four digit or a 50th anniversary. The prices around my area are ridiculous to unbelievable at times, so I have to simply be on the lookout for relative bargains. If I don't find something on Gunbroker it generally takes forever to find it. There are NO "gun" stores around here. There are only three pawn shops within 25 miles so, locally, my searching is a bit limited.

Well I never did get around to getting a 50th BEAR CAT....you will have one up on me    RR

I might add that if I do find something on-line I have to factor in the cost when it gets to my FFL. If whatever I want isn't over 50 years old my C&R is useless. They charge $40.00 to transfer and then the State gets $10.00 for all the various paperwork I have to submit. So, whatever the auction price is I need to add $50.00.

Radical, congrats on the OGCA magazine hit this month. Dick S. told me to come check out your pic in this thread...very impressive.

Now that is a cool little gun! Must be the one that the Gun Gods laughed at you about but you were able to end run "them"! :D
That IS the gun. I hauled the $$ from my very very rarely used 'when in dire need' savings account. Already paid it 1/3 back.

Are they the original factory grips on #24? I didn't know that any of the original old models had the medallion in the grip. And then you show a duplicate-second. Where do you ever find these?

Well what are friends for....but to sell you KOOL GUNS

#24 was owned by Bill Lett a friend of Mr Ruger who also happened to make grips for RUGER....

I think maybe he knew someone that could put in medallions for him 8) 8) 8)

The D/S gun was bought by an employee....I have the receipt somewhere....for like $20....RR

Next you can do crazy stuff like look for consecutive ALPHA CATS....

or consecutive 3 digit BC's

Thanks for making me dig through my PHOTO BUCKET ACCOUNT...that was fun....RR
