A guy I know from work wants to sell his Mini 30 tactical, 580 series, he's asking $1400, seems pretty high to me, even in todays market, what would be a fair price to offer him?

Before Christmas they were $699 new in the box.

How desperate are you? :D

I paid $680.00 OTD for a 5.56 tactical about 18 months ago. Right now Ruger.com has the MSRP at $968.00, and I've not seen to many buy at MSRP.

If that's his asking price, what would be a "fair" price would very likely insult him. Best to simply not take interest.

Consider that guns never sell for full MSRP and then look at what MSRP is for this particular gun. "Fair" seem in the cards now? ;)

Depending on how many mags included, they have been selling on Gunbroker for between $1500 and $2000. Crazy! I'd just wait it out. Might take a year, but things will come back to normal.

This one is only $1030...

But there is two hours left! That's when all the fun begins  If you search the completed auctions, one even went for $2500! I can't imagine wanting a $700 rifle that bad.

Yep, it SOLD for $1425, so maybe the OP's buddy isn't so far off.... this week.

Yeah, I checked out gunbroker, his price appears to be what people are paying now, not me though, I think I will wait till the scare is over and the prices come down to realistic, I already have a couple of mini's but was interested in the tactical, even before the gun control scare I wasn't having any luck locally finding one, could have ordered one from one of the local shops for 800 out the door, guess I should of done it then.
