My understanding that Ruger is to offer some 22/45 models with a threaded barrel. Guess they gotta follow the pack. Never seen one and never seen discussion on them, but Browning has had them for a yr or so and CZ as well has a rimfire rifle with a capped threaded bbl.

Yep... more people buying silencers for .22LR, it only makes sense to have a pistol that can wear it. They're not just for rifles....

Yea, I have a Stainless MK II with the 6 7/8 inch bull barrel that I have intended to find a shop to remove the front sight, thread, and remount the front sight again. Should have just waited a little longer I guess but I think I like the idea of the MK II better then the MK III.

The Brits have had silenced guns for forever (those that they can own anyway). You'd think that they'd allow that kind of thing in the US again without having to go around the ole' rigamaroll.

Funny how much more restrictive European countries are in general but they can buy suppressors (aka moderators) over the counter with no special paperwork. Yet we have to get frisked by the ATF, fingerprinted, levied a $200 tax and have local law enforcement sign off on it. Not to mention pay four times as much for the suppressor itself.

Think I'd rather be responsible for my own health care than pay 50% or more in income taxes, paying for everybody else's.

Not to mention their state funded medical care actually works... LOL

It does???
They must have some kind of "Creative Accounting" over there too as their economy certainly isn't bristling. Bet their state paid Health Care is a part of the problem.
And I've never heard it works.

Ya know, no one has ever complained to me about the noise made by my MK II 6-7/8 bull barreled Gov't Target model when shooting it in my basement's 10 Meter target range.

And, of course, no one cares about noise when I am shooting on an outdoor range. I guess suppressors are not in my firearms radar field. I have no need for them.

Those "puppies" are nothing more than just another BATFE regulation "firearm part" requiring one to expose themselves to some sort of firearm registration scenario.

Good luck

Well I have a legal "muffler" for my KMK512 and would never think of shooting it again without such piece attached......it is SO much more fun to plink without all the noise( my neighbors never complained before but now they don't even know) .....I really can't believe that they are not mandated ....think how many ears could be saved and the HUGE amount of revenue it would raise    I actually try to limit my "UN MUFFLED" shooting to be courteous to my close neighbors ......only seems "NEIGHBORLY"   RR

I never make a trip to teh range without my supressed 10/22. If there is nobody else there, I really enjoy shooting all day without ear muffs or plugs. It is a shame they are so regulated as those that never tried one really will not get it until they shoot and realize a supressed 22 is quieter then a BB gun.

Indeed they are. I just got the e-mail announcment from Ruger about 10 minutes ago showing the threaded barrel end on the round barreled(Model 1911 knockoff) 22/45. It has a muzzle cap to use to protect the threads if nothing is threaded on the barrel.

One model has a Picatinny Rail on top and under the barrel for accessories, the other model appears to have a removeable Weaver rail on top.

I want a SS one. I guess the matte black matches the normal can color though. I think a SS one with a brushed aluminum can would be sweet.

I just got the email today. I was not interested until I saw it, now I want one. Not sure why or what I would do with a silencer though......

Still does nothing for me, especially with those hideous clothes line things, errrr rails. If i wanna hang junk of something, it's not gonna be a gun.

Interesting. First thing I think of is a silenced 22LR SA pistol with a red dot scope and a tactical light/laser. That sounds like fun to me. This is Rugers answer to the P22 and Mosquito IMO, and they will sell them to class III customers like proverbial hotcakes.

There here.. Starting out with the 22/45 frame.. :)

I like the rail model. I've been thinking of putting a .22 pistol together for suppressor use. It would need a light and a red dot. Would be a great solution for those late night forays into the darkness after those pesky armadillos.

Some folks need to be a little more open minded.

Some of us have to be dragged, kicking and screaming, into the 21st century. If only the accesory was less costly..........

I like to think of class III goods as investments. Besides, the fun you will have is well worth the cost of the stamp tax IMO.

I understand. Probably 90% of my guns (or more) are 19th century designs. I do, however, find and value some utility in more modern stuff....or more specifically, modern improvements on the old stuff. My favorite handguns are still single action revolvers, though I do see the value in a good polymer auto that doesn't rust. My favorite rifles are still leverguns and muzzleloaders, though I do see the value in a good AR or "tactical" .22. My favorite shotguns are still doubles but, well, my favorite shotguns are still doubles. ;)

I did not know that the Goblins that kick in doors, steal cars at gunpoint, rape, rob and pillage 25 hrs a day, eight days a week, were called 'armadillos"......Learned a new term here. Perhaps better used than the labels and names I have been accustomed to,,,,,"Look at all those armadillos over there, stealing those car parts off of that corvette.." 8)
