I recently purchased a 10/22 and American rimfire for my grandkids and liked them so much I bought another pair for me. Problem: I hate the extended mag release -- it catches on everything and is ugly to boot. Ruger cannot or will not sell me an old flush release. Anybody know where I can get one?

Welcome to the Forum!
Look on ebay, Numrich gun parts, Jack First Gun shop, as places to get parts. Look for the original factory one. Many folks took them off to add extended lever types. Used to be folks would give them away.

I second the "customizing" route. Worst case scenario, you don't like the result and have to start over. Best advice is cut and try until you're satisfied with the reduction.

Once that magazine release is done, the trigger guard should probably be next.... that thing hangs down twice as far as the magazine release!!!

I haven't figured out how something an inch in front of the trigger guard can be so disconcerting for some, but if it don't fit you, fix it. :D

The little dished out part for the old flush magrelease isn't present in the new guns. I switched in an old one but it doesn't work well so I had to put the new extended one back in.
