Engraved Single-Six Flatgate

Single-Six Flatgate with Real Ivory Carved Grips. I believe this to be the work of Mr. Shiro Ogawa (Japanese Master Engraver) who once lived here in California part time and set up at the Great Western Gun Shows in Los Angeles and also at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. There have been several guns posted here that have very similar engraving. Although not factory Ruger I still enjoy a nicely engraved old Ruger. Enjoy.

wow, that sure is nice....Laura had a few old Single Sixes that were done by Japanese engravers at some time, one was in the mid 50's , much like yours and was done overseas when the guy was stationed in Okinawa.......
he traded 'smokes' for the engraving job..... :shock:
Hers had pewter grips on it......wish we had taken pictures back then 8)

Nice one Gary, and did you get more info on the initials on the inside of the grips???
