Quick question. Just got my reprint in of Elmer Keith's Sixguns. Do I remember about 3 months ago a thread reporting another of his books is now being reprinted or is this the same book? Just trying to figure out what books of his are being reprinted now. Thanks for the help.

It is Sixguns. Wolfe has hardcopy reprints for about $60.00, and another company is offering it in PB for about half that. I have Wolfes reprint, many of the pictures are illegible. I had hoped for better for the price.

The first reprint was Wolfe's and it was of the original 1955 version. The new paperback is of the 1961 updated version with the .44Mag addendum.

Just got my copy of the '61 edition. It was $16.97 plus shipping with the discount offered on Jeff Quinn's Gunblast site.

The paperback reprint is excellent, the text is near perfect and the pictures are quite good. A great deal for 20 bucks at Amazon, or less through the Gunblast site.

The first reprint was by Bonanza in 1961. That was the edition that had the 44 mag supplement.
A later reprint by Stackpole also had the 44Mag supplement.......not sure why Wolfe reprinted the one without.

Dennis.

I've got an old copy of Sixguns from Stackpole, and a Wolfe copy that was printed several years ago. Neither apparently has the .44 mag supplement.

Wanted to add also, that my Wolfe copy from several years ago(probably 12-15?) is excellent quality in text and pics.

I was speaking of the current reprints from the last year or so. Not going all the way back to the beginning.

I have a copy of the '61 edition (soft bound?) on the way from Amazon. Wanted to read the new .44Mag section which I hope is there. I previous had purchased the '55 reprint hardback edition just last year? I think? Enjoyed it very much. A sure different era than what we are living in now :o .

I have a reprint that is hardback and it has the 44 supplement and the pics are all legible. It was a 1992 reprint of the 1961 edition, by R&R Books. A dealer that frequents my area gunshows always has a copy on hand for $59.95.
