Ejects Coming Back at Me.

Took the P95 to the range today for the third time without any issues. Shot perfectly. Accurate as all get out. Out of 50 rounds the only issue was 6-8 ejections came back at me and hit me in the forehead or right glass lens. Every thing else has been going out right or what seems to be over my right shoulder.

Any ideas?

It sounds like you are wearing shooting glasses. A ball cap might help keep the empty cases off you. Occasionally I get hit in the head by an ejected case from one of my pistols. I just don't pay it much attention.

For some reason my P97 does that occasionally on the last round from the magazine. Ii always wear a cap after a .22 rd from my MKII bounced of the range wall and went between my glasses and eyelid. Those little buggers are HOT. :lol:

Occasionally, all it takes is a "slight cant" in your sight hold to cause this along with a dirty pistol. Check it out the next time you shoot!.............Dick :wink:

Hate to say it, but I'd check your hold.
My P95 always tosses the brass to the right. EXCEPT!
The missus shot it once. She's been afraid of flying brass due to my Ruger standard (pre MK 1).
Well, wouldn't you know it, whatever she did, the gun stovepiped on her first shot, and the brass popped straight up, then came back and hit her on the chest.
It would have been funny, but I've been trying to get her interested in shooting and having brass come at her is an instant turn-off.

With an assortment of 9mm pistols, I have found the 147 gr. loadings to be the most likely to hit me in the head. I like the 115 gr bullets for all purposes.

I note Fiocci .380 ACP 95 gr ball rounds tend to go up and come down on and around me when fired from my LCP.

Who notes the worst case was a 147 gr reload duplicating the local police load, from a S&W 908, the case spun back and ended up between my safety glases and eyebrow! At least I had the presents of mind to set down the gun before grabbing my glasses.

And here I thought I was the only one. In 1988, when I got back from Iceland, I bought a P-85 when Ruger first put them out (automatics). Always loved the wheelguns so the auto's were like a dream come true. That was until I shot it. Every round ejected straight up and back to the point where you needed to dodge the brass with every shot. I ended up trading that in on a S&W 5906 that worked good for years. Seeing this thread made me think of that.
