Can someone tell me the difference between these two LCP 380s?

Can someone tell me the difference between these two LCP 380s?
I bought them both from the same pawn shop they were used but like new.
I thought they were the same gun.


Serial 3724xxxxx

• Has a short extractor
• Makes a click sound when you pull the trigger and it's not cocked.
• Says it was made in Mayodan on the slide.

Serial 3725xxxxx

• Has a long extractor
• Does not make a click when you pull the trigger and it's not cocked.
• Does not say anything on the slide about where it was made.

Could be just a different generation model. Run the serial numbers on Rugers website and see when they were built. Welcome to the forum

I wonder if one is better than the other, extractor and trigger mechanism wise

There were issues with the short extractor so it was redesigned to the longer extractor

If you are having issues ruger will replace the slide with the upgraded extractor
