I see a lot of different variations of Elmer Kieth’s book Six Guns out there my question is do they all have the same info in them? Just different covers?

They are similar but some reprints are of an earlier version for some reason that don't include the .44 Magnum chapter. So yes they are all the same with that exception.

So if I understand correctly the early versions and some reprints of the early version don’t have a 44mag section?
Is their a for sure way to tell which reprints don’t have the 44mag info?
If I get a copy I would definitely want the 44mag included.

I have the 1961 reprint version. Am curious about the "44 Magnum" chapter; the only chapter that I can identify as such is the final chapter that's titled "Supplement". Is that the one you're referring to..??

That's the only one I know of at this time. A "44 Magnum chapter" doesn't exist to my knowledge, just info about the 44 in the "supplement chapter" that was not in the original printing or copyright 1955.

Yep, that's the one.

yes the supplement is the one. When I mentioned it I didn't have the book in front of me to see how it was written. Its very odd some of the newer reprints are of the earlier version without the supplement. I don't know which ones do or not I haven't looked at all of the current offerings.

I bought Gun Notes vol. 1&2 on this forum and I just received a copy of Hell I Was There today in the mail. Can’t wait to read it. Gun Notes is a little out dated as I’m sure Sixguns is too but I really like the way Elmer wrote.
I bet Safari would be a great read all so.

I have all the books with the exception of Safari. Since it was privately published and in low numbers it's not seen often at a decent price and I've never seen a reprint.
