dvd (& vhs) inventoring

does anyone have any experiance with software to inventory a collection of DVDs ( & VHSs)
soemthing like 800 (400)

I've used barcode scanner to got the ISBN in an excel spread sheet. I would like to add title and gendre

sort of one of those projects where once I have a good inventory, they still proably go to the dump

I would just suggest Excel. But it will take a lot of time to enter them one at a time.

But how much space does all this take up? Sounds like a small video rental store.

I started printing 3x5 cards with info from IMDB and picture of the label. Gave up and just keep a spread sheet.

I use DVD Profiler.

I paid for the PC software and also the Android app. I use my phone to scan the barcodes.
You can update either direction, PC-phone or vice-versa. If either one goes bad, you can use the other to restore. I have over 1,500 DVDs on mine.

can you add a sorting parameter for where the DVD is stored Like Box 1
do you know if you are able to print of a simple list with

Title / rating / gendre / location

even better if it will generate a xcel file

while I have no ideal what I'll go with these DVD/VHS, I am thinking about sorting by gendre and seeing how many duplicates I have in the numbered boxes of ~50 I have put them in

I love having it on my phone when I'm buying movies so I can avoid duplicates.

It's not perfect, but it's the most comprehensive and reliable solution I've found...I have tried many.

It also has a large online community and support network.
