OK and Now " The Rest of The Story"
Sorry ED, If you are going to tell a story tell the whole story.
The plane he is in is a Laird Super Solution, which he raced. There has been a replica made of it which I saw at Oshkosh. It is now owned my Kermit Weeks in Florida. Had to be hell trying to see out the front.
Most associate Jimmy Doolittle with the Grandville Bros. R2 Racer., but he flew several different planes at that time period.

More history on Jimmy and the Laird.

Well If any of you are interested in reading about a TRUE American Hero I suggest you read this book. We all think of Jimmy Doolittle and 30 Seconds over Tokyo.
That was just a small part of his outstanding life.
Give it a read.
