Dogs To The Rescue

Earlier this week, the neighbor gal tripped and fell in her driveway. Apparently she was there quite some time and was unable to get up.

We have another new neighbor across the street that found her. And the only reason for that is she has dogs that went berserk, telling her something was wrong outside.

Dogs are a blessing.

And the neighbor that fell...A really nice black eye and some stitches, but she's okay.

Dogs are a blessing. When I fell this winter, I couldn't get up either. My feet and legs were on ice and I couldn't get a good purchase. When went back in the house and got my wife. She couldn't do much but brought a walking stick which helped me get up.

My dog Blizzard is a better watch dog than any security alarm I could buy. The funny thing is he is the nicest dog. One time he was going crazy at the UPS lady. I opened the door to get my box. He accidentally got out. UPS lady is still on the front porch. All of a sudden Blizzard just stops and looks around. He didn't know what to do after he got out. He barks like a killer but it isn't in his nature to bite anyone. That was the funniest thing I think I've seen him do.

Dogs and men have been companions for tens of thousands of years. I don't think I'd be able to trust a person who doesn't like dogs. As for those who consider them "unclean," I'd sooner trust an Akita, Rottweiler, or pit bull.

85. She does well. And she's stubborn. I bring her garbage cans into her yard once a week, and I would certainly take her garbage to the curb as well. So would the other neighbors. But she wouldn't allow it.

When our Son was 9 he was riding his dirt bike in some woods about 200 yards from the house. Well he hit a stump and crashed and broke his leg. Our Collie that was in the fenced back yard was going crazy with barking and jumping at the fence. First time he had ever done that so wife let him out. Yep he took off for the woods and wife followed and found the Son on the ground hollering for help. Who knows how long Son would have been there if it wasn't for Laddie.

I'm 75 and took a bad fall last Monday. Tripped and went down like I'd been shot. My fishing sunglasses KILLED me. They drove up into my forehead and sliced me open big. 14 stitches. The ER doc is an Afghanistan vet and he recognized the damage as glasses immediately. Saw a bunch of similar over there. CT showed my hard head to be okay. Those dang $5 fishing glasses from Wally Werld were not broken. Just scratched. I saved them as a souvenir. I get around pretty well and don't fall often, but If I'm gonna do it, well, do it right.

Glad you're neighbor is doing okay. Once you're over 70 falling gets scary. Thank God for dogs, They are "Man's best friend."

My Jessie girl is a GREAT security alarm too and if you open the door , she just sniffs who ever is outside the door and gives a tail wag if she gets petted.

I fell one time getting up from our yard swing. Girl Puppy thought I was on the ground just to play with her. I didn't holler, but rather laughed at her antics. Couldn't get up and wife was gone. Just stayed on the ground with Girl Puppy playing "jump over daddy". Finally the neighbor looked out and saw me on the ground!

My ferocious beasts as we speak, one to the right and one to the left. The Daschund can hear people walking down the sidewalk out front and barks. Don't need a doorbell. The old lab doesn't get up until its serious!
