How many of you guys around the country got the surprise of channel 2 (CBS) no longer being available in the Direct TV menu this morning?

I only found out because when I want to surf the channel listings, I always press 2 so the menu starts there.

CBS Goes Dark for 6.5 Million Customers as Contract Talks with AT&T Stall

A business dispute took CBS off the air for millions of satellite television customers of DirecTV and AT&T U-verse on Saturday.

CBS was black on satellite systems owned by AT&T in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and at least 11 other large cities across the United States. Both the television network and AT&T hurled accusations at each other for failure to agree on what CBS is paid for programming.

Our CBS on Direct TV has been out for a two-three weeks now. Miss Penny has tried to call & such,, no luck with anything. She has already mailed a few letters off expressing her displeasure at this.
It's a network broadcast channel. It is supposed to be available at all times. Looks like they are screwing up things a lot.

If CBS disappeared into another dimension entirely, I wouldn't know it. I haven't watched ANYTHING on CBS for over 10 years. I know this because I quit watching Letterman in 2009 after Obama had been in office 3 or 4 months and Letterman still wouldn't stop knocking on Bush, Cheney, McCain, and Sarah Palin. If CBS is out of your life, your life is better now.

We watch our local CBS channel for the local news and that's it (at least for me). We have cable so we didn't lose it and the local CBS station was telling people who have antennas for their TV how to get it as they had to change something so antenna folks could still get it. My dad has Direct TV and he is going to go back to cable.

I watch CBS solely for NCIS.

Out of about 24 programs I currently have set to record, NCIS is the only one on my list that is on CBS.

I have so much stuff recorded that I have 37 episodes of NCIS that I haven't watched yet.

Well, they gave me free Showtime for an undisclosed period of time. I didn't listen long, just said thank you & hung up.

CBS local channels are changing the frequency they broadcast on, this month.

Change is coming to antenna TV.

By law, many local TV stations are moving to new frequencies. If you watch TV for free, using an antenna, you must rescan your TV to keep your channels. Any time after a station moves, rescan your TV or converter box to find all of the available channels in your area. Because stations must move at different times, you may need to rescan your TV more than once.

No new devices, equipment or services are needed to rescan.

Someone still watches CBS...??
Yeah, like there are so many better networks.

quote>With three days of ratings yet to come, CBS claims 13 of the Top 30 most watched broadcast series, topping all competitors. That includes 11 of the top 20 broadcast dramas – more than the other networks combined (including all three NCIS shows, with the mothership returning to the top as the season’s most watched drama.) ...
And 60 Minutes continues as the country’s most watched newsmag. <end quote

Ah yes. Last I heard they were still #1 in the ever popular "50-to-Death" demographic.

CBS, the Communist Broadcasting System along with CNN, the Communist News Network are two of the liberal democrat stations I will never watch. You can get more truthful information from the National Enquirer.
