Difference in bearcat grips?

I have a set of plastic Franzite bearcat grips that sort of look like stag. They are about 1/16" undersized of fitting my Daughter's blued bearcat. Are there any differences in the grips of bearcats? I only have new models, would these grips fit an old model?

Yes, there are small differenced in the grip sizes. Aftermarket grips usually suffer the most from these small variations.

Yes, I have some Franzite grips in my collection but there just ain't no way I'd actually put them on one of MY RUGERS........

That sums up my feelings especially for the stainless model. I've noticed variations too.
 
My recent bought Bearcat's grips are a little off, mostly at the rounded top. I have two more factory sets on the way, that will likely be no better.

Ruger's best grips were back when Lett made them. It's too bad that had to end.

I have two Hogue sets, and a recent factory laminated rosewood set, for my stainless Single Six. They are a tiny bit short of covering the frame exactly, all the way around, more so at the bottom corners. The factory solid rosewood it came with (early 2009) fits almost perfect.
 
Well, I guess I have a set of Franzite Bearcat grips with box and screw for no reason. My Daughter (8 years old) saw a pair of Single-Six Pointer Pups sitting on a shelf in my gun safe and wanted to put them on her Bearcat. I told her I would get her a pair for her Bearcat but that didn't work out too well.

I found a place on the internet that charges $100 for antler grips made for a Bearcat. That's more than I want to spend. Does anyone know of other manufacturers of antler or antler-looking grips to fit a Bearcat that are currently available?

Also, does anyone need a set of Franzite grips?

There is someone on eBay who does polymer stag grips for $35 including shipping. He seems to get good feedback on his grips. Just put "ruger bearcat" in the search window for about two pages of Bearcat stuff, sometimes other nice grips show up on a deal.

That's the only source I've found for inexpensive non-factory grips.

Eagle Grips does a couple of styles for just under a hundred.
 
Don't know about the NM's but the OM Bearcats definitely had differences between series. I made the mistake of selling my originals (back in younger/dumber days) for Ivories.... and when I got 'em home they didn't fit. Took 'em back, and the dealer queried which series gun I had, then offered me some more..which also didn't fit, even tho' they did fit a Bearcat in his store. :shock:
I ended up spending almost 10 years before I found another set of original Ruger-Rosewood grips to return my Bearcat to originality.
 
Just for info......in some forum on here, there was mention that Sack Peterson was offering Bearcat Grips at reduced price of $75.
I emailed him. His reply was that they were back to $100 and he had received many orders at reduced price.
Day short, dollar short.......
