Here is what happens when they try to jump over a truck. Son was driving -he is shaken up but ok. The deer didnt survive. There was no body damage, just a few scuffs that polished out.

Great pic !!! and bridgebuilder, glad your sons O.K. last year here in Va a man was killed when a deer came through his windsehild .It wasn't the impact that killed him , the deer kick him to death before it died.
As to jumping ,I shot a small spike a few tears ago at about 70 yards with my deerstalker with winchester white box 240gr slhp's right in the heart and he jumped 10 feet stright up if he jumped an inch and that big 'ol hp left a fist exit hole in him and sucked a whole lung out of the hole .damnedst thing i've ever seen .

When I was a kid, I watched a deer jump over one of the fences in my parent's old property. What shocked me was the the fence was just over 7 feet tall, with barbed wire. The deer cleared the fence with ease. I wouldn't have believed it unless I would have seen it myself.
