so im pretty new to guns and my first purchase was a p93. i love the gun, weight, feel, looks, how it shoots, i love it all. But, while i love its weight in my hand its a lil heavy when i cc and it will be somewhat hard to conceal when it gets warmer and i wear tighter clothes. so i came across a sr9c that i love and its a fairt price. so onto my decision, should i sell my 93 bc once i get the sr9c i wont be carrying my 93 and would like to get a full size 40 or 45 for winter/full size carry. so do i sell my 93 my first love or do i just suck it up and keep it?

I will go one step further and say never sell any gun but especially the ones you like. I am fairly new to guns myself and sold guns I purchased and now regret it.

I agree with those above. Never sell a gun as long as it does what you want. I have sold 2 guns in my life, well, sold one and traded another. The first was a ruger 22/45, I good a good deal on it when I bought it, or i wouldn't have bought it. i prefer blued guns, but it was stainless, I thought I would get used to it, but just never could, so i finally sold it. The second was a remington 870 i traded for a 10/22 compact carbine. (had no money but really wanted a second 10/22, plus shooting clays wasn't as much fun as i thought it would be heh) Neither of those was a really hard to find gun so im not too worried about it. But I wold never sell my first gun no matter what it was, or a gift gun.

As long as you can afford to buy the SR9c and keep the P93, keep it. You'll regret selling it down the road. If money is an issue and you won't carry the P93 because it's too big and bulky, well then, you have a decision to make. In that situation, myself, I'd sell the P93 and get the SR9c. That way, at least you have a carry gun for your own personal protection. But, it's your call, we don't know your finances or your situation. I will say that I have had to sell guns when money was tight and I regret every last one.

Trust me ,30 years experience......never sell or trade away a gun ya love for cash to spend on a new "SHINY" gun that caught yer eye.

Ya said "so im pretty new to guns..."
NEVER SELL OR TRADE AWAY a gun that ROCKS FOR YOU,....it is worth the time to save save cash to buy yer next gun.

Use the SR9 for carry and keep the P93 for home defence.

They aren't making P93's any more---so you'll have a tough time replacing it if you sold it.

letsGOphills I don't know what you have holsterwise but a good quality holster & belt can make a big difference when concealing a larger gun.

As stated above the P93 is no longer made. It is also the lowest production standard P series pistols [except some of the niche collector guns like the P89M, laser models, etc]. Keep it!

I agree with the good fellas above.... the P93 is not the easiest to find and is worth holding on to.

I try to do my homework before I buy something so I know I really want it and am not just acting on a whim. But, lets face it, we all act on a whim now and again. When selling I try to exhaust all my possible future options (needs and wants) with the firearm to convince myself that I don't need it so I won't want it back in the future, but you can't prepare yourself for ALL those future needs and wants either. Still, I feel as though I should have exhausted more options in the past if I need to buy a model back I have "given up on".

Some firearms are easy to get rid of once you have them out of your system. Firearms you aren't close to or don't bond with. Historically I have looked at AR's this way as people seem to take ownership of them and then have gotten them out of their system. When times are good people buy them, when times are bad they are up for sale. Prior to the internet you could view this in local papers, classified advertisers and such. It could be that it was a good way to come up with a quick $1200 to $1500 20 years ago, but the phenomenon did happen if you had been watching. Not putting down AR's as I own a few stock ones and love them, just looking at some of the economics of them historically.

I'd hold on to a P93 or a P91 if I had one. You just don't see them everyday. Now that is not to say that I am forecasting that they would be collectible some day. I don't know that I am ready to say that yet. But, one never knows.

Heck, I'm still trying to find that one "killer app" as we say in the tech world to add to the P series. 8)

How about carbon fiber grips? Yeah, I know, they are just fine as they are. But, I would be happy if I could come up with even a picture of those Hogue aluminum grips for the Ruger P series without having to buy them.

Yes, absolutely keep the P93 if you can. Keep the P93 well maintained. Use the SR9c for home defense - when you have to use it to protect your family...the police are going to take it anyway and you will never get it back again. No No. Don't give them the P93!
