I'm 79 years old and I have been on statin drugs for at least 25 years, probably more. They have put my cholesterol in the normal range. I too have had some issues with muscle problems and they simply put me on a different statin and it pretty much goes away. I admire people who eat healthy foods, my daughter and son in law are vegetarian, eat very healthy, and control their weight very well, and I'm sure they are going to be rewarded for that. My problem is that I still enjoy hamburgers and fries, I try to minimize them, but I still eat some. A big thing for all of us is to exercise and try to keep our weight at a healthy range if we can.
