The AM section of the radio in my Volvo quit on me; the FM does work but there are AM Stations I like to listen to when I'm driving. I had a spare radio out of my Volvo 850 that got wrecked, but the AM section on THAT one quit too.
I went on eBay and bought a used one guaranteed to work and it has the security code; keeping my fingers crossed. Oh, paid $65 with FREE Shipping and its suppose to arrive by 08 Feb.
Keeping my fingers crossed.

AM/FM/Tape and Disc player.

What I miss about car radios is the dial tuner.
The newer ones that are digital usually tune in multiples of .2,and in the am days of my youth,it seemed you could get a little more distance out of a station by "fine tuning" the dial. Or was it all just in my head?

No, it wasn't in your head. Same applies to volume and other controls.

Before some goes ballistic and tells me how well digital; can be, remember most commercial applications are set to work at minimal cost. There fore the expense of better resolution is saved by making them "just ok."

The volume control on my Tacoma's radio/CD player has stopped working. I turn the dial, and the numbers go up and down. Sometimes, by turning it very, very slowly, I can get it to the level I want. Since it puts out radio stations at a higher volume than it does with CDs, this is a problem.

Most of the stuff assembled here in the U.S. is made of foreign components... few years back I walked into a local work clothes store and asked what boots they had made in America and the guy laughed at me... said they had one brand that claimed assembled in America but that meant the boot laces were put on here......
