Dan Wesson 357

This thread got my curiosity up. I got two of these a few years ago in a package deal. Never paid much attention to them, just put 'em in the safe for another day. Both are blue with 6" barrel (no other barrels). both are short lug, one vent rib and one solid. I don't see any model #'s on them. Serial #553XX is the vent rib, on the right side of the lug it says Dan Wesson Arms, 357 Magnum CTS. Serial #1428XX is the solid barrel, on the right side of the lug it says Dan Wesson Arms, 357 Magnum CTG. Any one know if they are designations for the barrel configurations?

I have always been surprised the Dan Wessons aren't more popular. I have both the Model 12-with the original outside barrel nut-and the M-15, both are VERY accurate and the interchangeable barrels let you cover everything from concealed carry to holster wear to formal target, silhouettes, you name it.
Among my treasures is a FIVE inch barrel and shroud (shades of Skeeter Skelton) for my M-15. When the company was resurrected in 1997 I called them-spoke to their head gunsmith (they returned my calls), they had made up a small batch from leftover parts.
