D serial number match

This may have been a topic before but here goes. Has anyone matched up serial numbers from the regular serial to the D serial number.I have a couple of Duplicate guns just not the match. Just wondering how they went about it besides the obvious and asking in the classifieds.

yessir, many years ago my wife matched up her D200006 Mark I target, with the original RST-4 that was serial number 200006.................

she almost did it again later with the Super Single Six as i recall but had sold off the first gun, due to conditon, and I found the other later on, oh well...It can be done, have to LOOK at all the Rugers you see at any show at any given time, and remember what you have still at home or just WHO has the other one.......
she can thank Mr Bill Hall, an very old , good friend for finding the RST for her at one of the OGCA shows when they first moved down to Wilmington,,,, I bought the Mk I T678 for her at a small gun show in Chagrin Falls ,Ohio in the late 1960s.......... :wink:

Thanks for the replies I have a couple of O.M. guns that I might have to run a ad for and see what pops. And Hittman I'll be on the lookout.
