Any CZ-nuts on here have any good tear down info? My buddy wants me to change his hammer out for a comp unit.

Thanks in advance for any pointers etc.

I think it is a 75 or the compact version. Not the rami though.

They're not as easy to detail strip as a P series, and there are a couple of variants out there.

This is a CZ 75B Compact, but I think it's close enough for any CZ 75B.

The pics and instructions should help you get the hammer out and back in.

If the gun is a decocker model, I wouldn't try to take it apart past fieldstripping.

Just a warning, the grip screws on my CZ75B were installed with some sort of threadlocker on them. It was quite a chore to remove them. I damaged the screws in the process--fortunately, part of the reason I was removing them was to install new screws. Philips head grip screws just aren't right!

Some more pics and instructions for reference.

Here's an armorer's manual, but it's not very well written and doesn't have many pics.

This is not a drop in install!!!!! and John's points are correct.

I've done two of these and both were safety model SP-01's along with replacing the factory triggers to adjustable triggers, I would never and I mean never, attempt this on a decocker model CZ. John's links are as good as any others I have seen.

I would recommend getting a spare sear and a set of springs for this assembly, maybe a spare safety lever.
...also a spacer if the FPB is being removed. Those parts can be purchased at CZ Custom shop or maybe CZ USA.

I would only do this on range only gun. It will take time and patience. Doing some of the disassembly inside a large plastic ziplock is of some help.

Here's a vid, kinda shows it being as scary as it can be but he's not showing the polishing or profile cutting in this video that needs to be done for full effect.

Thanks Guys,
I know the P-guns are easy and that is what I have done "work" to. I have told him I am no smith but would try if he wanted. It would be a team effort really. He showed me something from Youtube that showed a guy do it but it was fast and you couldn't tell where all the little parts were coming from.

I'll forward your comments to him to read thru etc and I will go over the links.

Thanks,
P.S. I figured Cheesewhiz would popup here. I knew you are a CZ-nut.

By the way, do not dryfire the gun with the slide off like the guy does in the video. In general, dryfiring a disassembled/partially disassembled gun is a bad idea because in the absence of the slide/firing pin, the hammer is stopped by other parts not designed to absorb the impact without damage.

Good point. from working on my Ps I figured that but it is good to hear again.

I can't afford to damage anything so I'm careful and very slow at times.

I installed the competition hammer and single action adjustable trigger. The difference is night and day. There is some fitting required and they aren't the easiest gun to disassemble.
