I want a set of custom grips for my Ruger 50th Anniversary .44 Mag which has the internal lock. Who are the guys here that make custom grips, (other than Grashorn's) and do they do grips like these?

Both of my lock midframes wear American Holly grips by Carl Schultz.

I've bought mine from Bear Paw Grips. Once I wrapped my hands around this grip the first time, I found the grip style that is for 'me'. And the fit is good too. First one was for the .44 50th BTW. Now I have this style of grips on four of my guns. Eventually all others will get the treatment as well....

Haven't used Cary or Carl's grips yet, but they do look very nice and have good feedback on their products.

Ruger sells a few grips for the "L" guns, as well.

I have the white plastic examples on a few of my "L" model Safe Queens.

That's exactly the very same reason I made some of my own stocks. I aquired 4 NM guns this year that all had the infernal lock system,, and I did not enjoy the plastic checkered ones supplied,, so I made my own. It can be done,,!

forum member pvtschultz (aka Carl) makes some awfully nice grips for a very reasonable price.

The set i have has a little more girth than factory grips, which is exactly how Carl explained they would be. Gives me a little more to get a handle on. Which might just be the ticket for some folks.

I am pleased with how Carl treated me and the final product.

These are the Ruger Custom Grips, flatgate referred to above, although I elected checkered Rosewood ILO white Sim Ivory for my .45 New Vaquero with the internal lock.
