Custom Engraved or Stamped Metal "label"??

Looking for something and need some ideas were to look.

Got a few gunsafes. After my dad passed recently it got me thinking I need to be a little better prepared. I knew his safe combos he knew mine. That was it no one else. We each accessed each others safes frequently enough that we remembered the combos.

Well I need to pass combos on to someone else now. But they won't be in and out of the safes enough to remember the combos.

I want something more durable than just a piece of paper and don't want to trust it to some digital format. Want something that will standout as important and not get lost in the shuffle.

I would like to get a metal plate, aprox credit card size with the combos engraved or stamped into it. Like old school machine labels.

Any ideas were I could get such a item. Thanks.

Pet co has a machine to make tags for your pets collars. You can put whatever you want on them.

Cut out a piece of aluminum and go to Harbor Freight and get a metal stamping kit. They're cheap. Or maybe you know someone who has a kit already and it will cost you next to nothing.

I've used stores where they make sports trophies; they've made a couple of custom plates for me. I don't know if they still exist; haven't looked for one in years. There are most likely 'on line' engraving services these days.

A trophy is a neat idea. The combination could be engraved to look like a date or award of some kind. Then simply hidden right in plain sight. Plus it could be made to be too big to get lost.

.......make up whatever "info" you want (incorporating the combination into that verbiage) put em on a ring with a few old keys, hang em on the key rack with everything else and no one will be the wiser....... :idea:

I have an old style "safe" that has key access. On the various shelves I have some
paper "flags" to say what is on the shelf. I put the various combinations on those
tags, in case I ever get to the point where I can't remember. It might take a few
minutes to figure out which combination is which device, but that's far better than
having to have a guy come out to open things. In addition, I showed my daughter,
so if something happens to me, she can get in.

AND all is contained in a locked "safe". :wink:

Tinman:The Dog Tag idea was perfect. Was able to fit combo with shortened dialing instructions and a name for each safe on each tag. Price was right too. 8 bucks for two tags. So i got a pair for each safe.So I will have two sets to have in safe keeping somewhere.They include your choice of silicon silencer rings. I went with bright orange. Easy to see and says look at this instead of getting lost in the shuffle.

I have the combination set to my birthdate. One other combination is my sons birthdate.
